David Dickinson, Founding Director, Unlike Minds
David is a committee member of the award winning Patient Participation Group of Haughton Thornley Medical Centres, (Tameside, Greater Manchester) recently assessed as outstanding. He is also the lay member of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, Digital Collaboration Board.
By career, David is an information strategist with experience of innovating in education, civics and wellbeing. He is founding director of the Unlike Minds capability network.
David has two driving beliefs: the first is that that being a patient is a very small subset of being a person and health and wellbeing information needs to be presented in the broader context of life information. Secondly, making information available to people is a third of the battle, making sure they are informed, a little better, but ensuring that they can make-meaning within the context of their lives is critical to their sense of coherence and wellbeing.
